Weather permitting, the dance will be held at the Captain Francis O’Neill monument on an open air platform.  A great time is always had by everyone who participates.  If the weather is unfavourable, the dance will be moved to the Caheragh Community Hall.

The O’Neill Committee are very grateful for the use of both halls.

At the start of the year, the company lost a dear Patron, Friend and dancing teacher with the untimely death of Joe Mannix (R.I.P).  He spent almost two decades teaching dancing to both young and old in Caheragh Community Hall.  Joe was very dedicated in promoting the Irish heritage and culture where ever he went all over the world. The Committee would like to pay tribute to him for all his expertise in the art of teaching Irish Ceili and Old Time Dancing.

The Commemorative Wall was a great success.  People have engraved their names on it from Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.  There are a few more spaces left on it.  If anyone would like to get their names on it for posterity, contact any one of htte O’Neill Committee. 

The O’Neill Committee held their usual Ceili and Old Time Dances during the year.  Patrons came from all over Cork county, Black Water Valley, Kenmare and Killarney.  Our thanks to all those Patrons for supporting us. 

Our next Ceili and Old Time Dance is on the 6th January 2012 in the Caheragh Community Hall.  Music will be by Tim Joe and Ann and everyone is welcome.
